Amy Scott Roupe, LPC
Amy has been working as a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2018. Amy received her BA in Applied Psychology as well a BA in Religion from Carson Newman College. Amy went on to earn her Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Lynchburg. While working on her license, Amy worked at Harvest Outreach providing therapeutic day treatment to school aged children and their families in addition to summer programming. Amy continued her work at Shenandoah University as well as Hampden Sydney College counseling students in their respective counseling centers. Amy returned to Lynchburg to work at Virginia Baptist Hospital working on the Adult Psychiatric Unit as well as continuing to work with the collegiate population at the University of Lynchburg. Amy worked in the counseling center at the University of Lynchburg for 7 years and held the title of both Assistant Director and Director in that time.
Amy is passionate about working with individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, working through trauma, adjustment and finding healthy relationships. Amy is basic trained in EMDR therapy and is Board Certified in Telemental health. Amy enjoys helping individuals through life experiences, and changes using holistic person centered and solution focused techniques.
In her spare time, Amy enjoys watching sports, cooking, live music, hanging out with friends and family, and taking road trips. She enjoys taking time to appreciate the little things and never passes up an opportunity to dance.
